Last year I wanted to try a 52 week photo project which I successfully completed last week. Yippie! Now, I’m not sure what type of photo project to do next??? I need to make some sort of commitment to my photography or my camera will move to the back of the closet. I may try a specific theme every week or follow a weekly photo challenge. Maybe something that incorporates pets??
I was at our neighbours cottage in the Quebec Laurentian’s over the weekend. We had a wonderful time cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, eating scrumptious food and relaxing with special friends. Greg took me for a snowshoeing trek in the back country – it was spectacular!!!
I only had an ancient Sony point-and-shoot camera with me because I didn’t want to damage my DSLR.
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. The National Inuit Youth Council held their 6th Annual Inuit Celebration of Life event to recognize this special day. The event was held on the front steps of Parliament Hill. Unfortunately, Inuit suicide statistics are very bleak. Suicide rates among children and teens in the Inuit community is 30 times higher than the rest of Canada. Inuit are working to raise awareness, increase support and promote the “Celebration of Life” campaign.
